WPRA CELEBRATES THEIR 2022 COMMITTEE AND CONTRACT AWARD WINNERS

T he WPRA honored their contract award winners, that work tirelessly behind the scenes to make it all happen and keeps the Association alive and well, during the WPRA Star Celebration at the South Point Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Thursday, December 1. A special award, not previously announced, was presented at the conclusion of this year’s Star Celebration. Kenneth Springer, the official photographer of the WPRA, was honored with the NFR Lifetime Achievement Award surrounded by this year’s Top 15 barrel racers. Springer jokes that he got into photography “like everything I do, I fell into it through the back door, never the front.” Every NFR since 1978, barrel racers have had Springer photos to chronicle the action inside the arena and the passion behind it between the ladies and their equine partners. For most, a “Photo by Springer” of them with their horse is a treasured possession. The WPRA congratulates each of the award recipients as well as those that were nominated for these prestigious awards. Photos by Kenneth Springer
