She landed atop the leaderboard in the two head average in the breakaway roping at the Dodge City (KS) Roundup Rodeo. This was the first year Dodge City has featured breakaway roping. Dodge City buckle and that I was in charge of making it happen.” Riding her great horse Pam Pam, who is 19 years young this year, she won the average in a total time of 5.3 seconds. September 9 - Margo Crowther of North Fort Myers, Florida, looking for her first trip to the Wrangler NFR, entered Puyallup, Washington ranked 13th. October 1 – WPRA Rookie of the Year winners announced – Bayleigh Choate in the barrel racing and Josie Conner in the breakaway roping. Both ladies qualified for their first National Finals Rodeo and National Finals Breakaway Roping, respectively. Both also set earnings records at the conclusion of the year. Choate ($182,971) and Conner ($61,233).
November 13 – World champions were crowned at the WPRA World Finals in the roping, futurity/derby and junior divisions. Champions included: Sarah Angelone (all-around), Hope Thompson (team roping – header), Lorraine Moreno (team roping – heeler), Tanegai Zilverberg (tie-down roping), Kathy Grimes (1D Futurity – KG Jukebox Hero and Derby – KG Juststealingcash), Colleen Vondra (2D Futurity – SR French Fire Water) and Skylar Alves (Junior).
