Karen Drought is the new Head of Programs at the Whittlesea Tech School in Epping. She started her career as an Engineer, carrying out roles in both telecommunications and rail industries in Australia and overseas. Karen transitioned into secondary education as a teacher of Mathematics and Science in the inner west of
Melbourne but found herself drawn towards multi - disciplinary, project - based subjects. Before joining the team at the Whittlesea Tech School, Karen was leading community - based problem - solving experiences in schools, designed to get students working with community on local problems. Karen has a particular interest in understanding how secondary education can foster the skills, mindsets and other capabilities that set young people up to thrive in an uncertain future.
