HAWKESBURY | The overhaul of Hawkes- bury’s sewage treatment plant, while running a little behind schedule, has so far gone “remarkably well,” town council was told Monday. A glowing update was provided by Josh Eamon, director, infrastructure with the WSP engineering firm, who noted that the job will be “on or under budget.” Originally, the $35 million upgrade of the Main Street facility, which started in April, 2011, was to be completed by the end of 2013. Malgré ce chapitre sombre, Rena Clair- oux remercie particulièrement sa propre mère qui lui a fait un cadeau plus qu’utile. «Au mois de septembre, ma mère m’avait acheté une alarme à feu. C’est cette alarme qui nous a sauvé la vie.» Maintenant, tout est à recommencer pour la famille de Curran. Actuellement, la famille demeure dans un sous-sol chez des amis. La reconstruction du logement peut s’étaler sur près de six mois. «On re- garde pour trouver un autre logement, préférablement une maison bien sure avec une famille de six. En plus de remplacer les meubles perdus, il faut également financer un premier et un dernier mois de location», a confié Mme Clairoux.
