What I did: I assisted month end close by uploading monthly standard journal entries and reconciled various general ledger accounts. I also performed bi-weekly inventory calculations to track lumber costs, recorded payments by depositing them into bank and closing out invoices, and created invoices and credit memos for Wausau Homes builders. I also got to learn QuickBooks and Sage Fixed Assets software to run the monthly depreciation. What I liked: I really enjoyed learning how month end close works and how journal entries are created and uploaded into the ERP system. It was nice to get to work with both accounts payable and receivable to get a feel of both areas. I also really enjoy the people I work with!
