What I did: I worked in the Association Services department at Team Schierl Companies and did many human-resource-types of tasks. I worked mainly in the ADP, GlobalSearch, and PARS websites. I electronically filed many documents for associates at their various divisions, which include The Store, Subway, Schierl Tire and Service, and Hartje Tire and Service. I ensured that all associates who drive vehicles for the purposes of TSC had their driver record pulled and checked over to ensure safety for the company and its customers. I also updated various documents that I felt needed improvement. Those were the main tasks I did, but there were other various little projects that I worked on as well! What I liked: In this short amount of time, I found a lot that I liked. I enjoyed learning about some of the behind-the-scenes work that goes into the operation of The Store gas stations and Subways, in particular. I learned a lot about the hiring process and enjoyed reviewing all of the policies and procedures that need to be signed and acknowledged by associates prior to beginning work. I liked having the ability to improve anything that I felt needed it, because I know that my work is leaving a mark and will be used in the future. I enjoyed my spot in my cubicle, as well as who I shared it with. I made connections with the people that I worked with, and those connections will not be forgotten. Future Dream Job: I’ve never had a “dream job” but I have an idea of what I would like to do after I graduate. I hope to step into a management role in the Nutrition Services Department at Aspirus Stevens Point Hospital upon graduation.
