What I did: I was fortunate enough to get an internship opportunity through Nigon Remodeling out of Wisconsin Rapids. I learned a wide variety of skills and knowledge about running a business and many different trade skills that will greatly benefit me in the future. Some of the different tasks I did in my internship consisted of tracking employee hours, estimating jobs, learning how to communicate effectively with clients, marketing, and keeping an organized profile of the jobs and their expenses. What I liked: I really enjoyed working different jobs each day at different locations. The different jobs came with a wide variety of requirements and problem solving and that was very beneficial to my education. Doing the different jobs taught me to think quick on my feet, as well as educate me on all the different parts required to run a successful business. It was really cool to be able to work right along side the owners of the company and learn how they operate and run their business day to day. Future Dream Job: My dream job is to own my own company someday dealing with property management and landscaping. I am an avid outdoorsman and love being able to work outside and do a wide variety of jobs. I think it would be awesome to be my own boss. Being able to work in a filed I’m passionate about would be very rewarding.
