Designs That Make a Home An Entrepreneur Highlight

5 Tips to Be Thankful for This Thanksgiving

1. Don’t feel like you need to change out everything in your house for fall and the holidays. Make small changes, such as changing out any faux florals to match the season or holiday. Don’t have any on hand? No problem. I love clipping stems from trees, bushes, and plants in my yard. You can even grab some dried leaves from the lawn to decorate your table. 2. Having the family over for the holidays? Don’t forget the kiddos. Save yourself and your beautiful tablescape by setting up a kid’s table. Use butcher or craft paper as the tablecloth and lay out crayons for them to color directly on it. You can also check your local craft stores; they sometimes have place mats for kiddos that double as coloring/activity sheets. It’s cute, and the kids will love it. 3. Not sure how to set the table? I always go for a simple look for the holidays to make cleanup a little easier. Grab a table runner (TJ Maxx is my go-to for affordable ones), some real or faux greenery (such as eucalyptus), and then use pumpkins or other items (such as candlesticks) to add the perfect finishing touch. cooking. This is when a grazing board is your best friend. These are my go-to for pretty much every event because they’re a huge hit, and they look like they came straight from Pinterest! All you have to do is grab a cute tray and lay out some deli meats, cheese, crackers, fruits, nuts, olives, pickles, and basically anything that you think would go well. I place mine outside of the space where we will be cooking so people can graze until dinner is served. 5. My final tip is to simply enjoy the moment. Honestly, nobody will remember what your tablescape or mantle looked like a year from now. What they will remember are the conversations and memories of just being together. Try not to stress yourself out and just know whatever you do will be appreciated by those around you. 4. The one thing that drives me crazy when hosting holidays is everyone trying to sample while we are

Part of serving our community at Marcus Vaden Law is recognizing others who are making a difference in the area. Meet Hannah Gipson, owner and operator of Jumper’s Corner Designs. For as long as she can remember, Hannah has always loved design and art. Hannah lived on a farm growing up, and her mom was constantly painting a room or remodeling something. Hannah was a teacher for several years, and she poured so much of her creativity into her classroom. When Hannah unexpectedly had to leave the classroom, she needed an outlet, which is when Jumper’s Corner came into play. Today, Hannah has a blog to share her life, home, and basically anything she thinks could help someone else along the way. Hannah hopes that when people go to her website or social media outlets, they feel inspired.

Hannah loves switching things up when the seasons arrive. Fall and winter are her favorite seasons for decor because she loves cozy spaces and feels like it’s easy to create that feeling with fall and winter decor. For summer, Hannah turns to nature and uses lots of fresh flowers to decorate.

Hannah likes to keep what she calls her “basic” decor pieces throughout the year. These include greenery, pillows, vases, candleholders, and stacks of books. These elements can be used in a variety of ways, in every season, and in every room. Hannah has limited spots for decorating, but she does take on clients from time to time, especially around the holidays! If you ever want to contact her, you can go to and or send her a message on Instagram or Facebook, @JumpersCorner on both.
