OUR PARENT COMPANY, APi group Our history is based on the unity found within a family of independent companies dedicated to building a safer environment through the life safety, industrial, specialty construction, and infrastructure industries. We proudly trace our roots back to 1926 when A.P.I. Inc. was established as a small insulation contracting and distribution division of the mechanical company Reuben L. Anderson-Cherne. Lee R. Anderson became president of the family business in 1964. Under his leadership, Anderson expanded operations in the Midwest region, increasing revenues to about $30 million. In 1980, Anderson launched a strategic initiative to diversify APi Group within the construction and construction-related industries. The company went on to expand into key markets, establishing both a national and international presence. In 1997, the company became APi Group, Inc. APi Group’s purpose is Building Great Leaders. Our people enjoy the freedom to share best practices, develop peer-to-peer solutions, and benefit by direct access to the wealth of experience and knowledge each company brings to the APi Group family. Through their cooperative purchasing contracts, we are able to leverage national resources to benefit your organization at the local level.
