A Sale Built on Vision, Relationships, and Red Brangus Excellence

For more than three decades, the Genetic Edge Sale has stood as a cornerstone event for Red Brangus breeders from around the world. What began as a vision among a small group of committed cattlemen has grown into a premier international sale, consistently showcasing elite genetics while strengthening the global footprint of the Red Brangus breed. No discussion of the Genetic Edge Sale is complete without recognizing the contributions of Don Cox, whose leadership and commitment shaped the sale into what it is today. Cox’s strategic approach, tireless work ethic, and deep belief in the breed laid the groundwork for long-term success. For more than four decades, Don played an instrumental role in shaping the direction, credibility, and international reach of Red Brangus cattle. His influence extended far beyond the fences of his ranch in Weimar, Texas, touching breeders, associations, and friend- ships across continents. While his résumé is filled with leadership titles and industry honors, those who knew him best remember Don

While Don’s accomplish- ments were many, perhaps his most enduring legacy lies in the people he mentored. He had a remarkable ability to recognize leadership potential in others and encourage them to step forward. Don Cox imagined what it could be, then worked tirelessly to make it a reality. He believed in Red Brangus cattle, in unity within the breed, and in investing in people, especially those willing to learn, work, and lead.

first and foremost as a visionary with a servant’s heart; someone who believed deeply in people and in the power of Red Brangus cattle to change the beef industry. Don’s global vision was matched by his commit- ment to leadership and service within breed organiza- tions. He was one of the 12 visionaries who founded the IRBBA, which he believed was essential to the breed's future unity and growth. He served on the IRBBA board for 24 years, helping to guide the association through critical periods of development and expansion.

Though his passing leaves an undeniable void, his legacy remains firmly planted in pastures across continents, in association leadership, and in the count- less breeders whose lives he touched along the way. As the Red Brangus breed continues to grow worldwide, it does so on a foundation Don helped build; one defined by vision, service, integrity, and heart. The flag he carried so proudly now passes to the next genera- tion of Red Brangus breeders, and thanks to Don Cox, it flies higher, farther, and stronger than ever.

PICK OF THE HERD FROM COX EXCALIBUR BRANGUS We will honor Don’s wishes and offer this lot in the Genetic Edge Sale 2026 for the second year in a row. At last year's Genetic Edge Sale, Cox Excalibur offered a pick of any female from the en- tire Cox Excalibur Herd for the first time ever in 42 years. At $61,000, that lot was the highest-sell- ing of the 2025 sale. In addition to the many tremendous females we have to offer, the buyer of this lot will also get 1 semen straw of CX Home Run 135/P and 1 semen straw of CX Legends Dream 610/U1 , both legendary sires who have produced many Grand Champions over the past and present years. Both bulls are currently selling for $5,000 a straw. While these decorated bulls commanded many ac- colades over their lifetime, the exceptional quality in their progeny spans the last couple of decades and will continue to flourish among many herds for years to come. Whether you’re expanding your herd through IVF or adding a proven donor cow to elevate your genetics and produce the next Grand Champion, don’t miss the opportunity to incorporate some of the very best Cox Excalibur has to offer with this lot. This is as good as it is from CX and Don. To quote our dad, "I was once told, 'Don't put off what you should do today until tomorrow, because none of us knows if we will be here tomorrow.'" In Loving Memory of Don. Cox Excalibur retains rights to 10 embryos from the selected female. All females carry 100% possession and embryo interest for the buyer, unless a partnership animal is selected.

Wade & Heather Benoit of M&M Farms are one of the biggest Red Brangus advocates in the Southeast. From their Poplarville, MS farm, they have been diligently building a Red Brangus program that provides Red Brangus genetics along the Gulf Coast. By blending foundation performance genetics with elite bloodlines, they are producing cattle that are catching the attention of cattlemen and cattlewomen from all corners. The queen of the M&M program is M&M Ms. Home Run 844/F. She has become a name synonymous with elite donors in our breed. She is known for her proven record of producing high-quality, yet performance-oriented cattle from multiple sires. Her offspring include the Grand Champion of the National Junior Brangus Show, Ruby 844/J and Autumn 844/J2, the Turbo 600/9 daughter who won her division at the Texas Invitational, the NJBS, and the Brangus Futurity. 844/F has proven herself to be a Red Brangus female that will produce the highest-quality, stoutest-featured cattle from multiple bloodlines. Her sons and daughters alike display similar characteristics and qualities that define the 844 family. M&M Farms believes she exemplifies their foundation and their future. Home Run 844/F is ready to flush soon at the buyer’s first opportunity. In her past successful flushes, she has produced an average of 85 to 90 oocytes, resulting in 25 to 31 viable grade 1 embryos. At her M&M Farms, in herd production, they have experienced an 85% conception rate.

From the Wilkerson Family, here is another real cow prospect. She combines style with added body depth. She comes from the 204-cow family, which has produced and contributed so many impactful cattle to our breed. When you see 204 in a PHN, you can proceed with confidence. The 204 lines consistently produce not only in the show ring but in the pasture as well. Combined with Yucca, one is excited by the maternal excel- lence bred into Nellie. She is also a daughter of the up-and-coming sire, VSC Lucian 334L1. Lucian is a son of Cortez 175C6 out of the striking champion donor Miss JLS Reba, a daughter of the still valuable TR Red Brick. From the top of the Union Ranch keepers, is a heifer that offers both paternal and ma- ternal might. Crimson Statesman 84N5 carries the name of her National Grand Champion sire, Statesman 100S. It is almost 20 years since Statesman first caught the admiration of Red Brangus breeders. One of the most powerful and striking young bulls in the breed at that time, he remains an influential and impactful sire. His progeny around the world is plentiful, and the multitudes of pedigrees that carry his influence are numerous. 84N5 will surely add to his legacy. Adding to the genetic value of 84N5 is her maternal heritage, with her donor dam a daughter of TX Chief Advantage 76/A. The Pablo Diablo daughters burst on the scene back in March at the Red Alliance Sale and they quickly became the people’s choice! Backed by a George daughter who carries the 23 brand on her hip, she has all the look of an elite show prospect. This August-born female is built stout from the ground up; we’d expect her to compete at the highest level in the summer division.

M&M 36/N is a well-balanced, dark cherry female that marks all the boxes when it comes to looking for that special replacement female. She displays extra length of body with excellent breed character and style. Consider the depth, muscle, and bone she pos- sesses at such a young age.

MSS MBJ Nelly 10N2, as the youngest heifer in the sale, may offer the greatest opportunity. On the sale day, she will undoubtedly be at the forefront of the sale watchers' lists. Her lineage speaks volumes for her future. She is the result of the generations of new and foundational Red Brangus individuals. She is the first calf born of the emerging MBJ standout MBJ-Reblack Ledger 1358L7. Ledger has been recognized early for his impressive characteristics and strong lineage. Let’s begin with his phenotype and strong adaptability traits. Ledger embodies the ideal bull phenotype envisioned by MBJ Ranch: a slick hair coat, solid, strong structure, and a balanced physique to ensure longevity, power, depth, and an impressive EPD profile. The lineage of Ledger traces back to the powerful sire, CX Home Run 135/P. His dam is the tremendous donor OB MSS Layla 1328Z, known for fertility and milk production The dam of Nelly, 10H/K, is a first-calf heifer acquired in the Power of the Brands from our genetic partner, Tom Moore and M Bar M Red Brangus. She is sired by the attractive and proven Yucca 428 and from the high-performance 10 family. The donor granddam of Nelly is MBJ Halen 10H, a tremendous daughter of MBJ Conan 768C. MBJ Conan 768C daughters and sons are in demand with each passing season as he proves his genetic merit. Conan is the sire of the Power Wagons MBJ Houston 424H GCR George L. 101G. His daughter MBJ GR Bella 204G2 was the Reserve Junior Calf Champion at the 2020 IBBA National Show in Houston. The dam of Halen is CX Ms Red Chief 10/U, a descendant of CR Red Chief 4851M1, whose pedigree and influence are second to none in Red Brangus. We are impressed by how Nelly is developing and believe she has a tremendous future as a donor and herd matron. With each passing day, she develops a more compelling profile, with a long body, a strong top, and a correct leg set that enables a very fluid stride. She blends power and femininity, performance with style, and phenotype with genotype. The seller retains the right to one future flush with a minimum of six (6) embryos. This is at the seller’s expense, the buyer’s convenience and the female’s availability.
