LE RÉGIME ENREGISTRÉ D’ÉPARGNE-ÉTUDES DESJARDINS UNE AVENUE TRÈS AVANTAGEUSE SI L’ÉDUCATION DE VOS ENFANTS OU DE VOS PETITS-ENFANTS VOUS TIENT À COEUR COLLABORATION SPÉCIALE CAISSES POPULAIRES DESJARDINS Qui s’instruit s’enrichit… Bien sûr, ce vieil adage est encore vrai aujourd’hui. C’est pourquoi une grande majorité des Canadiens considèrent que l’éducation de leurs enfants ou de leurs petits-enfants est une priorité. Toutefois, les études ont un coût qui, comme plusieurs nécessités de la vie, s’accroît au fil des ans. VOUS POUVEZ INVESTIR DÈS MAINTENANT L’une des façons les plus faciles et les plus payantes d’offrir des études à ceux que vous aimez est de souscrire à un Régime enregistré d’épargne-études (REEE) Desjardins, qui croît à l’abri de l’impôt. Vous pouvez dès maintenant souscrire à un REEE et y verser le montant que vous désirez chaque année, à la condition de ne pas dépasser le plafond cumulatif de 50 000 $ par bénéficiaire. Notez que l’enfant doit avoir un numéro d’assurance sociale pour que vous puissiez souscrire à un REEE, mais qu’il n’est pas nécessaire que vous soyez le parent ou le grand-parent du bénéficiaire. Pour toucher les sommes accumulées dans le REEE, ce dernier doit résider au Canada. UN MONTANT CONSIDÉRABLE EN INVESTISSANT SEULEMENT 100 $ PAR MOIS Le REEE Desjardins est vraiment rentable. Non seulement il vous procure un avantage fiscal, mais il vous permet aussi de toucher des subventions alléchantes. Le graphique suivant démontre que le montant récolté en cotisant environ 100 $ par mois au REEE Desjardins, pendant 18 ans, est supérieur de 12 380 $ (en Ontario) à celui que vous obtiendriez en épargnant le même montant, mais non investi dans un REEE. Ce montant est aussi supérieur de 7 154 $ au montant obtenu, si vous investissiez dans un compte d’épargne libre d’impôt (CELI), par exemple. Savez-vous combien coûteront quatre années d’études postsecondaires en 2030 ? Environ 26 077 $ par année, soit 104 308 $ pour quatre années d’études.
It is only one a few weeks until the 32nd An- nual Terry Fox Run/Walk. On Sunday, September 16 from 9:30 until noon, you can walk, run, roller blade, bike, bring a stroller, a well-behaved four footed friend, or wheel chair the trail to raise funds for cancer research. The start is behind Mother Teresa School in Russell and in Embrun at the Train Depot. Donna Lafrance, Carolyne Rowland, Susan Barr and other will greet you in Embrun. Councillor Eric Bazinet will say a few words before 9:30. In Russell, Cindy Saucier, Judy McFaul, Marg Cholowski and her team of vo- lunteers will sign you up and Mayor J.P. St. Pierre will encourage you on. There is a middle station across from Therkelson’s where there is a was- hroom and water station and the Pilon family is there. You do not have to do the entire trail. Go as far as you want, as long as you want. If you can only spare one half hour that morning, that is fine. There will be face painting by «It’s An Art Thing». Sharon does creative faces for a minimal charge of which some of the proceeds will go to Cancer research. Caroline Rail will warm the group up with her Zumba moves. We promise we will not make the Mayor wear the jingle scarf sarong this year. The Russell and Embrun Fire Departments will be out once again crossing our participants safely. Thank you to the volunteers who give of their time. We appreciate the continued support. We thank Russell Township for providing the funds for the porta-potties and to Chez Lili party supplies for the tents at both sites. They have been supporting us since the beginning.
The Terry Fox Run is one event where there is no registration fee and no minimal amount that needs to be raised.You can collect pledges, make an on-site donation, or donate on-line. Pledge forms are available at local businesses such as Curves in Embrun, RBC, Giant Tiger, Pierre et Fils, Foodland, Pronto, McEwen’s Gas, Scotia Bank, Russell Arena, Kindercare., and Fill Your Boots coffee shop. Thank you to all the local businesses for their support. As Terry said, «Every dollar counts» and last year your generosity helped Site #82 raise over $11,000 locally. We had close to 200 participants and we hope more of you come out this year. This is one event where there the two communities participate together. We will have our survivor and memory board so you can bring a photo to post. T-shirts are available for sale now and they are $17. Small child t-shirts are $15. You can view shirts at terryfox.org.
