Hero not zero My wish list needs us to act like heroes, not zeros. If we are to be bold, we need to be positive. Net zero is a small step but in my inexpert view it is no heroic solution. Net zero is a fuzzy, abstract target. Zero is neither positive nor negative. Net refers to the economy overall, so any progress will be obscure. Its intention is to slow down the warming by not making it any worse. It is grounds for hope, but of stabilisation. It is nearer life support than a fix for anything. If we want to get serious about sustainability, we must go beyond and plan a more extreme intervention. Less ismore

Leadership is about the future, shaping the things to come with the choices we make. The choice to use this bold opportunity to re‐assess a robust, shatter‐ proof industry.
