climate initiatives and launching its own. In the last few years, Edinburgh has joined the Global
Last year the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) launched a new sustainability programme ‘Step Change.’ The programme will focus on three areas: environmental, societal, and economic and the EICC will provide event planners with a detailed and bespoke Event Impact Report which focuses on those three key areas. Meet Edinburgh, the city’s convention bureau encourages less-environmentally damaging travel wherever possible, such a catching the train instead of flying. However, where this is not possible, Meet Edinburgh urges organisers and delegates to calculate the carbon footprint of their travel and offset the carbon emissions they produce.
