Tropical charm

M alaysia faced dozens of postponed beginning of 2021. But despite the international travel ban, the Malaysian government gave the domestic meetings and events industry the green light in December 2020. Since then, Malaysia has been practicing safe domestic events with the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (The Centre) hosting the Malaysia International Home Renovation + Interior Design (REX Expo) 2021 in March. As part of the Malaysia Business Events Strategic Marketing Plan 2021–2030, Malaysia aims to become one of Asia’s top five business events powerhouses and cancelled international meetings, events and exhibitions in 2020 and at the by 2030. To help fulfil its ambitious vision, the Malaysia Convention and Exhibition Bureau is offering planners a financial support package to get international meetings and events going again. The package is exclusive to corporate meetings, association meetings or conferences with a minimum of 120 delegates, which include a minimum of 10 per cent of those being regional or international delegates.
