Rochester is educating the next generation of the region’s leaders. Residents of Rochester are provided with excellent educational opportunities through public and private elementary and high schools, as well as numerous college, university, community education, and continuing education offerings. Whether you’re looking for customized training, a four-year or graduate degree, or a technical school to learn valuable job skills, Rochester is where it’s at. Area colleges include the University of Minnesota-Rochester, which is part of the University of Minnesota system and focuses primarily on health sciences; Rochester Community and Technical College, Minnesota’s oldest original community college, which has 70 programs and recently established various programs that provide students the opportunity to complete a four-year degree without leaving Rochester; Saint Mary’s University, a Catholic university with a Rochester campus that provides bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs in a variety of disciplines; and Winona State University, a diverse academic institution with over 200 programs to suit the needs of this growing community.
