Oronoco Located five miles from Rochester, Oronoco offers plenty of shopping and fine dining options. Being close to Rochester means that families have access to three different school options – Pine Island School District, Rochester Public School District, as well as private schools. The town’s annual Gold Rush Days is a “must experience event” and draws visitors from near and far each year. Pine Island Also located along the banks of the Zumbro River, Pine Island is a 20-minute drive from Rochester and was founding 1854. With nearly 4,000 residents, Pine Island features one of the best school districts in the region. It’s charming atmosphere and strong sense of community, the town has quickly become a bedroom community for nearby Rochester, while still celebrating its agricultural roots.

Kasson – Mantorville A mere 20 minutes to the Rochester metropolitan area, Kasson is proud to feature its own growing downtown area, as well plenty of recreational opportunities for area residents. Not only does the town offer an affordable cost of living, but residents also enjoy access to exceptional educational opportunities, healthcare and cultural activities. When you venture into nearby Mantorville, founded in 1854, you may feel like you stepped back in time. In fact, thanks to the local walking tour, visitors can enjoy a self-guided tour through Mantorville’s Historic District and learn more about several of the town’s historic buildings, and venture through gift shops and antique stores. Zumbrota Located along the North Fork of the Zumbro River, 20 miles from Rochester, Zumbrota’s idyllic locale means it is a huge draw for area residents and visitors alike. No visit to nearby Zumbrota would be complete without exploring its time-honored covered bridge, the last functioning covered bridge in Minnesota. There’s even an annual festival celebrating everything the bridge means to the community! In addition, the Covered Bridge Park features 64 acres of trails and is home to Kid’s Kingdom, a massive 10,000-square-foot playground that keeps children from all ages coming back for more. Businesses also relish in Zumbrota’s bustling Main Street, which is complete with restaurant, shops, and entertainment venues aplenty – all of which celebrate everything this family-friendly tranquil town has to offer.
