What We Do When We Are NOT Working…. So, a lot of people ask Glenda & I what we like to do, when we are NOT working, while two of things we like to do are watch college football and travel! This past November, we had the opportunity to do both! We travelled to the University of Maryland to see the Michigan State Spartans play (and lose) to the Maryland Terrapins and do some sightseeing in Washington D.C. for the 1st time ever, which was awesome! We got a one day pass for one of the hop on, hop off bus services and in conjunction with walking more than 15,000 steps, we got to see all the memorials and most of the most notable buildings in the city including the Capital (where the stage was being built for the upcoming inauguration) and the White House. For those that enjoy trivia, did you know that if Abraham Lincoln’s statue at the Lincoln Memorial could stand up, he would be 28 feet! Also, using sign language, his left hand signs an A and his right hand signs an L! Overall, aside from the Lincoln Memorial, we were really impressed by the World War II Memorial, which opened to the public in 2004. The next time we visit Washington D.C. we hope to visit a number of the Smithsonian Museums, which are of interest to us and perhaps next time the Spartans will win!
