MAKING THE GRADE
TRAPA These Trapa grades relate only to their products which are stocked by Havwoods.
PAR-KY
RUSTIC - OAK This allows both intergrown and loose knots (filled), filled cracks, medullary rays, ingrown bark, heartwood and colour variation, but not sapwood
KNOTTY - FIR This allows both intergrown and loose knots (filled) up to 30mm, filled cracks up to 50mm, heartwood, colour variation and isolated resin pockets, but not lightening cracks or ingrown bark.
PRIME Exceptionally fine quality.
KARELIA Karelia also specify three very general grading classifications:
SELECT Very subtle variation in colour and grain variation and knot-free.
NATUR Showing a more prominent grain pattern and tonal variation than the Select grade.
COUNTRY For a vivacious floor with knots and bolder colour variation.
