Upcoming Info Sessions Detailing information about a reconstruction project and the local sales tax renewal
The Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce will host an information session with the Minnesota Department of Transportation on the upcoming Highway 14/Broadway Avenue Intersection project with construction slated to begin in the summer of 2027. In 2027, the Hwy 14 and Broadway Ave. intersection in Rochester will receive safety improvements. Every day, almost 50,000 vehicles use the intersection. MnDOT and the City of Rochester are looking into changes to reduce crashes and improve crossings for pedestrians and bicyclists. The team is looking into these changes: • Alter some or even all turning lanes • Reduce speeding, especially on Broadway Ave. • Resurface Broadway Ave. to 9th St. • Adjust crosswalks and install new sidewalks/trails The project will span west and east on Hwy 14 from 4th Ave. SW to 3rd Ave. SE and north and south from 9th St. SE to the access points north of 14 St. SW. Some portions of this project will include a reconstruction, where all the materials of the road are removed and replaced with new ones. Local Sales Tax Renewal Info Sessions
The Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce will host a series of information sessions with the City of Rochester detailing the renewal of the local sales tax for Rochester and we encourage you to join us. These information sessions will provide an opportunity to gain insight into the proposal in advance of the November 7th election. The information sessions are open to both the public and business community to attend. Registration is appreciated, but not required.
