For those whose kids are stoked on surfing or want to be, that is the goal of the lessons offered at Coreyswave. The school provides the boards, wetsuits and any other necessary equipment, but most importantly, the semi-private group lessons give kids essential ocean safety knowledge, basic skills and surf etiquette, and environmental awareness. From Surf Discovery for beginner surfers to Kids Surf Academy for intermediate to advanced surfers, Coreyswave Kids Surf programs are a perfect way to introduce and develop a connection with the ocean while making new friends. Also offering SUP, parties and events. Their goal was to create innovative learning environments for students. A motivation-based approach allows young artists to discover themselves through their own unique creativity. The groups are divided by age but participate in similar lessons, activities, and studio time working in 2D and 3D art mediums. Dependent on the weather, the artists will visit the beach utilizing the ocean for inspiration and do some sand casting. The Art Barge provides all the materials and resources. Visit damico-art.org and sign up for the mailing list to keep apprised of all their events. The weekly programs will start July 11th for 6 weeks from 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm. Looking for options for the 5 to 15 set? Whether you have a junior lifeguard, a budding artist, or a marine biologist there's something for everyone on or near the water this summer.

For kids with a genuine love of the beach who want to spend summer in the water, what better way than to join the Junior Lifeguards/Nipper Lifeguard Programs through the Y.M.C.A. East Hampton RECenter. Both programs have similar components such as swimming, running, paddle boarding, along with marine and beach educational activities, but are modified for each age group based on swimming abilities. Chief lifeguard for the Town of East Hampton, John Ryan, Jr., believes the confidence this program imbues in kids to succeed in the ocean or the bay and the safety standards they learn become valuable life skills. At the end of the summer, there’s a competitive tournament

for all the kids to have fun and show off their newly acquired expertise. Every participant must pass an evaluation and training to enroll. If a child is not a strong swimmer, swimming classes are recommended and available at the Y. To register, go online to easthamptonct.myrec.com. Registration opens May 1, 2022 for the June 25-August 7, 2022 sessions. YMCA East Hampton RECenter, 2 Gingerbread Lane, East Hampton, NY, Call: 631-329-6884 Photos courtesy of Nicole Castillo
