“I served as a Field Medic in the Army National Guard from 1976 to 1980 at the 108th Combat Support Hospital in Northeast Philadelphia. We trained for two weeks during the summer at various army bases and the respective army hospitals including, Walter Reed Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. As a combat support hospital, we were fully staffed with experienced doctors, nurses, and medics. We trained very seriously during those two weeks by acting out war scenarios and treating the wounded flown in by helicopter in our inflated field hospital. It was both challenging and rewarding!
I am very proud to have served and grateful for the life experience!”
