Research shows that purposeful conversation can help children develop the vocabulary and oral language skills they need to thrive as readers. But structuring conversations for maximum impact is no easy task. That’s why we partnered with Dr. Tricia Zucker to create PreK On My Way: Language—an evidence-based read-aloud language program built on Dr. Zucker’s research-proven Developing Talkers model.

outcomes ⊲ Spark conversation and build knowledge with a diverse collection of read-aloud books. ⊲ Develop language skills with an “interactive read-aloud” approach where teachers pose open-ended questions to the whole class as they read. ⊲ Support oral language development with serve-and-return interactions and multiple-turn conversations. ⊲ Introduce and reteach high-value vocabulary through explicit routines with illustrative photos and total physical response.
