Vulkollan A highly elastic material for the highest dynamic load capacity. In 1937 polyurethane was invented by Otto Bayer. The “classic” of this category is Vulkollan. There are 3 forms of this product: For wheels and castors is massive, glycolnetworked Vulkollan for practise. Using massive and glycolnetworked Vulkollan for wheels and castors. Vulkollan is manufactured in a casting method of Desmophan and Desmodur 15. Castor coverings made of Vulkollan have a higher load capacity in regard to castors made of gum. This important advantage makes it possible to construct room and weight saving by a default pressure. Castor bandages made of other or also resilient plastics are stronger. They offer a less driving comfort and cause driving noises. In comparison to other which have the same hardness PUR-Elastomers has Vulkollan a higher E-module and so a higher load capacity by a concurrently low absorbability and low lasting forming. Vulkollan is a homogeneous and high molecular material without flexibilizer and colouring dues. Frequency and tensile strength are the same for all types. Vulkollan´s rigidity rises with thickness increasingly. This shows a higher clamping quality at the same distension and higher tear strength while the blow flexibility and elongation falls. The choice of a Vulkollan type should be good considered so that the physical features are depending on temperature. A room temperature till approx +80°C are the forming qualities almost steady. At lower temperatures Vulkollan becomes more rigid till about -40°C the elastic features are frozen without any brittleness. Tear Strength For practising is the Tear Strength of elastic material Vulkollan extremely important. The combination of elasticity and Tear Strength results a feature of Vulkollan: The extremely large abrasion resistance which shows a great corrosion behaviour to advantage in a dry or wet friction. The Tear Strength of Vulkollan will not be reached by no other not reinforced Elastomer. In this case special attention deserves the flexible Vulkollan qualities. Abrasion Resistance The excellent Abrasion Resistance is one of the best feature of Vulkollan. It beats all the other elastic materials. The DIN-Abrasion of Vulkollan is in comparison to a indelible nature gum quality only approx 25-40 per cent. If in wet Abrasion between friction partner and Vulkollan there is a grease like water or oil then it belongs Vulkollan to the most indelible materials which are known today. As well as metal will be beaten. Already traces of wetness reduces the low Abrasion to a minimum. It will be excited less warmth which additionally a better conductibility of the grease. This reduction of the abrasion and thermal demand causes together the high tear strength. Press formation properties The Press formation properties dependent on the exterior form of the Vulkollan part and character of the press area. On sleek press areas can a body expand itself. The characteristic curve results if a foreign material is closely joined with the press area and there is consequently no circumference possible on the interface. If Vulkollan will be required dynamically then you have to consider the development of the heat. The heating will be rising by increasing of frequency and forming. - massiv, glycolnetworked Vulkollan - massiv, waternetworked Vulkollan
