ANTEATER COUNTRY When you’re at UC Irvine, you’re in Anteater Country. Yes, really. The university’s mascot is an anteater… Peter the Anteater, to be precise. Quirky? Sure. ALDRICH PARK Stop and smell the roses at Aldrich Park, a 19-acre circular botanical garden right in the heart of campus. Home to more than 300 types of trees, the park helped earn UC Irvine recognition as a Tree Campus by the Arbor Day Foundation. From campus events to everyday study breaks, Aldrich Park is the go-to spot for recreation and a breath of fresh air, especially during finals weeks.
