Dear Brothers of Kappa Alpha Psi ® , Esteemed Guests, and Friends,
It is my honor to mark the Centennial of the Jacksonville (FL) Alumni Chapter serving as the Host Chapter for the 75 th Southern Province Council, and welcome you to the historic city of Jacksonville, Florida—the proud birth- place of the Southern Province . The sixth edition of The Story of Kappa Alpha Psi notes that the Chapter was authorized by the 14 th Grand Chapter and chartered on February 27, 1925, as the “first Black-sponsored college Greek letter society in the State of Florida,” just 14 years after the Fraternity’s founding. As we gather to celebrate this extraordinary occasion in the life of our Noble Clan, the Jacksonville (FL) Alumni Chapter stands as a shining example of our commitment to achievement, service, and leadership. Over the past century, this Chapter has helped shape the legacy of Kappa Alpha Psi in Florida and throughout the Southern Province, building bridges across communities while upholding the high ideals of our beloved Fraternity. This Centennial Celebration is not only a recognition of the past, but also a charge to the future. The Jacksonville (FL) Alumni Chapter has prepared a dynamic series of events for this historic gathering, designed to inspire, uplift, and honor the legacy of those who paved the way. As brothers and guests from across the country and around the world journey here, we embrace this opportunity to connect, reflect, and celebrate. As we take stock of what has been accomplished and remain steadfast in our pursuit of even greater achieve- ments, we are “rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, just as [we] were taught, abounding in thanksgiving,.” for there is much still to be done.
