All about ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
A Degree is a pre-requisite for any teacher training course with us. For secondary programmes the degree should be related to the subject you wish to teach, or have:
an A level in the subject an unrelated degree but relevant professional experience
You need the following GCSEs at Grade 4(C) or above, or equivalent qualifications: English Maths Science (if teaching Primary)
Subject Knowledge Enhancement (SKE) Courses You may be required to complete an SKE if any of the following apply:
finished your degree more than 5 years ago a different but related degree to the subject you want to teach an A level but not a degree in the subject you want to teach an unrelated degree but relevant professional experience studied for a languages degree, but need to improve knowledge either in a main language, second language or both to an acceptable level for teaching in schools. You can choose your SKE course provider. They are usually online, but some courses can be classroom based and/or be a mixture of both. The courses will range from 8 to 28 weeks and your training provider will advise on the recommended SKE length.
Currently SKE courses are available in 5 secondary subject: Chemistry, Computing, Languages, Maths and Physics.
Equivalency Tests If you do not have all the GCSEs required, you are able to sit an equivalency test in Maths, English and/or Science. We accept the following:

Non-UK citizen If you have qualifications that you gained outside of the UK, we will want to see a comparability statement from the UK European Network of Information Centres (UK ENIC).
