A t least twenty-five tim es is mention made of th e “preaching of th e Word,” th e “ searching of th e S criptures,” the “ effect of th e W ord,” th e “ grow th of th e W ord,”- th e “ prevailing of the Word,” etc. The Holy Spirit filled these early believers; He anointed th em ; He filled them ; He worked in them and through them. The whole book reveals the g reat tru th th a t when th e Church subm its to th e will and Word of God, and depends upon th e Holy Spirit for wisdom and guidance and direction; is w illing to endure testing, trials, h ard ­ ships and suffering; th is same Holy Spirit will work out His wonderful plans and purposes in and th rough it. If th e Church could forget a thousand things it is now try ing to promote, and devote itself to th e one g reat essential as in th e days of th e early church, th ere could come to th is land of ours, and to a needy world, a revival of the pure, un adu lterated religion of Jesu s Christ, accompanied by such manifestations of the power of th e Spirit in th e breaking of the h earts o f men and women, as would enable H im to do, in a year’s time, w hat has no t been done in fifty years. Let every Sunday School teacher bring th is message close to th e h ea rt of every Sunday School scholar a t this very time. PRACTICAL POINTS (1) Begin a t Jerusalem , b u t journey on to th e u tterm o st parts. (2) P eter and P au l are th e chief hu­ man agents in th e Book of Acts. (3) Our Lord’s promise of th e pres­ ence and power of th e Sp irit was fulfilled a t Pentecost. (4) The giving of th e Gospel to every creatu re is th e command and com­ mission to every believer.
