WFIMC Member since 2015

The Takamatsu International Piano Competition was established as an international cultural project by local volunteers with a passion for music and a dream of creating an event that would inspire young musicians aiming for the international stage upon the opening of “Sunport Hall Takamatsu”. Held every four years since its inception in 2006, the competition has served as a platform for nurturing talented young pianists who will play a leading role in the future development of the world’s musical culture as well as for showcasing the fruits of their hard work and devotion to contribute to international exchange. The year 2026 marks its 6th edition. Highly acclaimed for its musical quality, the competition has produced many world-class pianists. The opportunities for the winners to give concerts and recitals in Japan and abroad have been a great driving force for them to spread their wings to the world from Takamatsu.
