We will celebrate the centenary of our Conservatory in 2027. I would like to take this wonderful opportunity to reflect on our 100-year history, which stands as the epitome of the evolution of higher music education in modern China. Moving forward, our Conservatory will remain dedicated to expanding our global reach and introducing Chinese music culture to a wider audience around the world. We envision a future where more international friends gain a deeper understanding of China, explore its civilization, and appreciate its cultural heritage. Together, we aspire to be a bridge that fosters exchanges across cultures. The SHCM has established the Intl. Music Festivals and Competitions Research Center in collaboration with the WFIMC, and We are planning to translate and publish the Chinese version of the Federation’s Yearbook. Next, we will focus on conducting comprehensive research on the history, rules, competition systems, organization, and management of music competitions. Our goal is to explore the connection between music competitions, music education, and talent training. we also aim to examine how music festivals – through their founding, organization, and operation – enhance music creation, performance, and research, and vice versa. Through this research and our academic cooperation with the WFIMC, we hope to promote more talented Chinese musicians to the international community and enhance the understanding of Chinese culture.
