DAEGU INTERNATIONAL VOCAL MUSIC COMPETITION Daegu, South Korea

New WFIMC Member

The Daegu International Vocal Music Competition, jointly hosted by Daegu Metropolitan City and the Dongil Cultural Foundation, is an annual competition solely focused on vocal music. Established in 1983, it has played a key role in making Daegu a cultural hub and has contributed to the city’s 2017 designation as a UNESCO Creative City of Music. The competition discovers talented vocalists worldwide, offering them opportunities to perform at the Daegu International Music Festival and to debut at the Daegu Opera House. In addition, while all participants who advance to the finals will be awarded a prize, the winner of the First Prize will be awarded KRW 20.000.000.
