Receptions receive special visit from Farmer Darcy’s Travelling Farm Our Reception classes had a very special visit from Farmer Darcy’s Travelling Farm! This opportunity put together learning outcomes from the integrated English, Science and HASS studies this term about ‘On the Farm’. The farm is run by Darcy, an autistic woman who prides herself on inclusivity and providing a welcoming experience for the students. It was recently voted the Best Animal Welfare Small Business in South Australia! It was an invaluable experience for the students to interact with rescued animals, have fun dressing up in ‘farm clothes’ and learning the names of each animal.
Year 5s enjoy unplugging from school at Illawonga Camp Illawonga Camp is an educational campsite just two hours from Adelaide near Swan Reach on the Murray River Our Year 5s enjoyed a few days at camp, enjoying many exciting activities. The camp included an ecology boat tour, archery, gymnastics, the Punyelroo Cave Expedition and kayaking. It was an important camp in the lives of our students, as learning about the ecology of the Murray River taught them about being stewards of the Earth and our natural resources going into the future.
