MIDDLE SCHOOL
Why Home Economics is such an important Middle School subject Our Year 8s have been mastering their culinary and independent skills in the Home Economics kitchen. This term, they tried their hand at making omelettes. Not only does home economics teach cooking and safety, it also builds responsibility. It teaches our students to use the techniques they learned in class in home life. When they learn how to take care of their household and themselves, they inevitably become more responsible at home. Home economics are also vital for mental health, as it offers a way for students to practice design, creativity and mindfulness.
Thursday the 25th of August was a cold and wet day but that did not dampen the spirits of our players. The Year 7/8 gold boys’ team were undefeated and played Prescott South in the grand final. Our boys out played them and proudly came first. Our Year 7/8 silver boys team came 6th and the play of the day was Micah’s 3 point shot from outside the ring! The girls gold team also came 6th overall. Holly and Alyssa played well together in goals. Nyatony made some good intercepts and was able to change the game around. The girls silver team enjoyed the day of competition and managed to win one game. Harper and Seema were solid in defense and Elizabeth played well as our Goal Attack.
