from Mildura and Swan Hill to the far South West at Warrnambool for the May carnival, as well as the major cups at Bendigo, Geelong, Ballarat and Kyneton. Rob also covered the famous Darwin Cup Carnival. Rob gave over 20 years of wonderful service to the Victoria Racing Club in his role as host and Master of Ceremonies in the mounting yard and at so many functions. Rob’s commentary was heard at the Royal Melbourne Show in the equestrian arena and he was a key commentator for cycling in the Sun Tour and the Bay Classic. He took the role as Media Tutor for the Racing Victoria Apprentice Academy and did wonderful work with so many of our young jockeys riding today. In a special project with great friend Casey Bruce, a former jockey, he was able to convince the owners of the champion sprinter Chautauqua to allow them to take the horse on an equestrian path, a project he embraced with open arms with the horse arriving at his Lara property met by a very proud Rob Gaylard. Rob gave over 20 years of wonderful service to the Victoria Racing Club in his role as host and Master of Ceremonies in the mounting yard and at so many functions. The, Chairman and Board of Directors, along with all VRC staff members extend their deepest condolences to Karen and Casey on Rob’s passing.
