Co-trainer confirmed these instructions and stated that he could see horse was over-racing and thought appr L. Held up for clear running from the 500m until easing out across the heels of Cryptic Jewel (NZ) near the 200m. 18-JUL-20 MRPK Stewards granted permission for a gear change in respect of this gelding, after acceptance time. The gear change being the removal of blinkers and the addition of winkers. Co-Trainer Mr T. McEvoy advised Stewards prior to the event of a change in tactics that being that he would instruct his rider to attempt to obtain a more forward position in running. Raced keenly in the early stages. 25-JUL-20 CAUL Slow to begin. Raced wide without cover from the 800 metres. Rider Jamie Kah reported her mount was slow to begin and lay in from the 400 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow recovery. A post-race sample was taken for analysis. 06-JUN-20 FLEM When racing keenly near the 1000m was steadied out off heels. Then raced wide throughout. When leaving the gates was checked when tightened. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Rider reported that although his mount suffered significant interference at the start, he was still disappointed in the manner it responded when placed under pressure passing the 600m. Post race vet exam revealed no abs. Tnr advised horse would be spelled. 09-NOV-19 FLEM Rider could offer no explanation for the poor performance. Vet reported a laceration to the near hind leg. 07-JUN-20 SW H Slow to begin. 23-MAY-20 FLEM Began awkwardly and made contact with another runner. Rdr could offer no explanation for performance. Post race vet exam revealed no abs. 09-MAY-20 CAUL Approaching the home turn held up behind the tiring Southern Rock (IRE).
