William - Oparc Participant, Ultimate Sports Enthusiast, and Avid Traveler!
If there’s one person at the Rancho Day Program who lives and breathes sports, it’s William! A proud supporter of the Rams, Lakers, Dodgers, and a passionate WWE fan, William brings energy and team spirit wherever he goes. For the past 19 years, William has served as an honorary football coach at Claremont High School, inspiring young athletes with his dedication and love for the game. His commitment to the community and youth sports is truly admirable. Beyond the field, William is an avid traveler who enjoys exploring the world with his family. He recently returned from a memorable trip to Puerto Rico, where he soaked in the culture, scenery, and sunshine—and came back with incredible stories that he eagerly shared with friends and staff. Since joining Oparc, William has made meaningful progress in how he expresses himself. When he first began, he sometimes struggled to communicate his needs and could become frustrated. With ongoing support and encouragement, William has grown more confident and self-assured. He now speaks up clearly when he wants to share a concern, and he has built strong, positive connections with the staff he trusts. William’s enthusiasm, warmth, and adventurous spirit make him a cherished part of the Oparc family. We’re lucky to have him as an Oparc participant!

Michael and Maria Troli Inspired by a Moment, Committed for Years
AMERICAN DISABILITY ASSOCIATION (ADA) Celebrating 35 Years
“I would see the Oparc vans around the community and knew our support would be going to a great cause,” said Michael Troli. Michael and Maria have been loyal supporters of Oparc for several years, moved by what they witnessed in their own neighborhood.
What is the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)? The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) became law in 1990. The ADA is a civil rights law that prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in many areas of public life, including jobs, schools, transportation, and many public and private places that are open to the general public. The purpose of the law is to make sure that people with disabilities have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else. The ADA gives civil rights protections to individuals with disabilities similar to those provided to individuals on the basis of race, color, sex, national origin, age, and religion. It guarantees equal opportunity for individuals with disabilities in public accommodations, employment, transportation, state and local government services, and telecommunications
“One day I was out having lunch when I saw a group of individuals with disabilities arrive in an Oparc van,” Michael recalled. “One of them was someone I recognized from my church. Seeing him out in the community, enjoying a meal and connecting with others, really struck me. That was the moment we decided to start giving to Oparc.” This is what happens when community and mission meet. Their ongoing support helps ensure that more people with disabilities have the same opportunity—to be active, included, and supported in their communities every day.
