in the 20th chapter of Isaiah about King Sargon, King of Assyria. It is the only place he is ever mentioned. No historian ever wrote about this Sargon. Infidels at that time claimed this was a “ nom de plume” ; some said he didn’t exist; some said he was traveling incognito, and if the Bible was the divine revelation of God, no such thing as that should be countenanced, therefore it wasn’t true. But God always has a witness for the truth. At that time a professor connected with the British Museum, a Christian man, asked permission to go to the Tigris River and dig up the city of Nineveh. He believed he could find it, and made as careful a search as some of our friends are making today in Egypt digging up King Tut’s tomb, and after much diligence the city of Nineveh was exposed, and the first thing taken out was a very large cylinder of stone, engraved in the Assyrian language, which when deciphered proved to be the life account of this Sargon, King of Assyria, and his exploits as a warrior. The writer visited the British Museum in London some years ago and in conversation with the old superintendent, asked this question: “ Show me some curios or other evi dence that the Bible is not true,” and he replied, "Sir, I can show you ten thousand times ten thousand curios that demonstrate the Bible is true beyond the peradventure of a doubt, but there isn’t a thing in this establishment that can contradict that truth." ... stand before the King In all His glory and the books are opened, how great will be the joy of those who have had a share In the ministry of placing God’s Word, to find many who have been led to accept Jesus Christ as their Saviour. The Bible’s Message Well, what is this Bible anyway— what is its character? The Bible is the greatest book in the world. The greatness of any book is determined by its character. It tells of the God of creation, of redemption, of the atonement and of t eternal life. We are living in a day of much Bible controversy; many say its diction is obsolete and should be changed; but my friends, the Bible does not need to be rewritten, it needs to be reread; its precepts need to be believed and its example practiced in every day life. If it is read under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, that One whom Jesus Christ sent into the world to take the things of His and show them unto us; He (the Holy Spirit) will interpret to us the true meaning of the truths con tained in this most blessed Book. Therefore let us diligently study its precepts and follow its example. The Bible Up-to-date The Bible is the only Book in the world that is up to date. In it are found the foundation principles of all the arta and sciences— astronomy, philosophy, geology, theol ogy, music, etc. It is an historical fact that the Bible has never once been revised to meet the advance of scientific knowledge and history. On the other hand science and history have been ad vanced to meet the Bible. T ot illustration, some years ago there was great controversy in England over a statement
