men of his faith and fervor are needed in these lukewarm and apostate a.ays. The editor preached at the Galilee Baptist Church, in Dee Moines on the morning of August 22nd. Frank A. Case is pastor here. He has been very active in the affairs of the Iowa state and Des Moines Bible Association since the beginning ten years ago. His outlines are used for our Bible study work and both he and Mrs. Case teach classes, numbering in the hundreds. Dr. T. F. Cooke of Ames, Iowa held a three weeks series of evangelistic meetings at Grand View, Iowa begin ning August 1st. He goes to a Tabernacle at Burling ton, Iowa for a series of gospel meet ings in September. t u b PATH OF THE SAVIOUR May be sung to the tune, “Where the R iver Shannon Flows. There’s a story very precious, A tale I love to tell, Of the God who came from heaven, Down among lost men to dwell; How He stooped to save lost sinners, To rescue us from Hell, How He gave Himself a ransom. That with us all might be well. He who lay in Bethlehem’s manger, At whose feet the shepherds knelt, Who in solitudes of Naz’reth, With His earthly parents dwelt; Served the Father in all Israel, Sought to remedy sin’s blight, Raised the dead, restored the dying, To the blind gave back their sight. ’Twas Immanuel, Christ the Saviour, David’s Son and David’s Lord, Gave His back unto the smlters, Wounded side to soldier’s sword; Wore the plaited crown of thorn, Bore the sorrow, grief, and scorn, ’Tween two malefactors dying, ail our sins by Him were borne. Sing His praises, all ye nations, He who came to earth to die, He who loved the poor lost sinner, He who heard the lost sheep’s cry; He who formed the worlds and holds them In the hollow of His hand. Was on earth a lonely wand’rer In Judea’s favored land. Soon He’ll come in all His glory; Cloudless morning then shall break. Mounts and hills break forth in sing ing. Trees of field with Joy awake, When in royal robes He cometh. Soul’s travail forever past; Countless saved of earth shall hail Him, Lord of glory crowned at last. service in the morning and a fair sized house greeted the speaker at night. Brother Bergren is doing a wonderful work here. Moody School graduates have preached here for years and these people believe in the New Birth and are looking for the Lord’s return. The members of the school board and the superintendent of schools belong to this church and all text books on science are submitted to the pastor, Bro. Bergren, for examination and approval before being adopted in the public schools. Thus all evolution books are barred. It would be nice if this could be done In other places also. Brother Bergren begins a series of four weeks evangelistic meetings next month with an evangelist from Moody School. We met several young men Just recently who were saved in this church, and whose bright, happy faces showed their Joy in . the truth pre sented. One of these young men is going to Bible School to take training for Christian work next year. E. T. Aldrich, pastor of St. An drews U. B. Church, and paBt presi dent of the Des Moines Bible Associa tion, is holding three weeks evangelis tic meetings in a large tent in the out skirts of Des Moines while taking his regular summer vacation from his pas toral duties. His church is backing this work, and all Fundamentalists are invited to attend and help regardless of their denominational affiliation. Brother Edward Crane of Denver, Colorado is supplying at Calvary Bap tist Church, Des Moines; while Bro ther Meyers is spending three months in Los Angeles. The attendance at Calvary Church is keeping up very well for the summer months. All Fundamentalists are glad to have a man like Brother Crane working in Iowa as he is a wonderful B i b l e preacher. We hope he can remain in our state for work for a long time as

The Des Moines Bible Association have secured Max Wertheimer, con verted Rabbi of Ada, Ohio, for the first bi-monthly Bible Conference the first Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday of Oc tober. The sessions will be held In the Central Presbyterian Church, Roy H. Brown, pastor. Mr. Putnam of the Extension De partment of Moody Bible Institute, has been secured for the December Conference. . . Our corresponding secretary, Guy H. Fish is trying to make arrangements with’ “ Bob” Shuler of Los Angeles to come to Des Moines for a Bible Con ference. The editor supplied in a number of Fundamentalist pastors’ pulpits in July and August. On July 11th he preached in the First Baptist Church of Grundy Center, David Alexander, pastor. This church always demands a pastor who is true to God’s Word, who stands square on the Funda mentals. Brother Alexander is a strong preacher and exalts Christ and His Word. The result is a large and spiritual congregation in healthy con dition. They turned out well even on a hot July morning. On July I8th *he editor filled the pulpit of the Simpson M. E. Church of Des Moines both morning and evening. The pastor is H. A. Orcutt, a man who believes the whole Word of God from cover to cover, and who always de mands a Fundamentalist to supply his pulpit when he is away. Here we found a hearty congregation who re joice in the truth as it Is in Jesus. It was a great Joy to meet with them and find them going on so well. On August 1st we preached both morning and evening in the Congrega tional Church at Polk City, la. Walter Bergren, pastor. Two other churches in this town closed and Joined forces with this church. The auditorium was filled for Sunday school and preaching
