dles burning at their side, opened up the Scriptures from the Old Testament to about eighteen Jews. Children’s Work The Lord has been blessing the Children’s work, and a number of both boys and girls, within the .past few months, have confessed their faith in Christ, while others are very near the Kingdom. These little converts need much prayer, as most of them come from homes of unbelievers. Two new homes have been opened for holding Children’s classes In the fall, one for the Jewish girls, and the other for the organization of a Jewish Boys’ Club, or Bible Class. Personal Work A young Jewess, brought up in Lon don, and yearning to know more of Christianity, was found by one of our workers in the General Hospital last December. On January 24th she at tended one of our Jewish meetings, where she publicly testified as to her acceptance of Christ as her Messiah. On March 28th she was baptized. From that hour her spiritual life has been deepening, and the testimony of her life as well as of her lips to her Gentile neighbors, and to unsaved Jews, give convincing evidence to the indwelling Holy Spirit. Her desire for worldly amusements, which ¡jhe expected would be difficult for her to give up, left her, and in place of it God gave her an Intense desire to know His Word. Her young husband, a Roman Catholic, put every hindrance to her spiritual growth in her way— even came to the last He brew Christian meeting in order to force her to go home. We have asked for his salvation (1 John 5:16). Weekly Prayer Sheet The department gets out a Prayer Sheet each week, and will gladly mail same to any interested reader sending in his name and address. Will you not pray that through the distribution of this Prayer Sheet anti- semitisfn may be removed from the hearts of Christians, and be replaced by a genuine love for God’s chosen people, and a real burden for the sal vation of the lost sheep of the house of Israel. m SPANISH WORK Robert H. WORK AMONG THE JEWS David L. Coopar, Supt.— Bible Classss and Personal Work, Street Meetings and Semi- monthly Mas» Meetings for Jews of Los Angeles. Semi-monthly Meetings HE r e g u l a r semi-monthly meetings have been discon tinued during the month of July, as Mr. Cooper w a s called East because of the serious illness of his mother. The Lord has answered prayer and her health has improved, enabling Mr. Cooper to keep his appointments at several Eastern. Conferences. He also represented the Jewish work In a number of churches along the way. Meetings in the Homes Because of the discontinuation of the Bemi-monthly meetings during July, the workers have been holding evening meetings in the various homes of the Jewish people, UBing the Illus trated Bible slides in connection with the explanation of the Scriptures. The attendance at these meetings would vary from seven or eight to as high as eighteen or twenty Jewish men, women and children. The Lord has greatly blessed in the Interest shown at these meetings. . One evening the workers entered the home of an unsaved Jewish family where the young people were dancing, but immediately they stopped their dance and became intensely Interested In the Bible slides. As the picture of Abraham sacrificing his son Isaac was shown, they spoke to them of Jesus Christ, God’s Son, who was sacrificed for the sins of the world, and how through faith In Him they might be saved. We covet prayer for this family. Another evening, which was the Jewish Sabbath, the workers had the privilege of entering an orthodox Jew ish home, and with the Sabbath can
