For Pastor and Bible Teacher

standing in life. It aaya of them that they are all ▼anity and vexation of spirit; but this Bible tells men how to live their lives for time and eternity, and unfolds to them the secret of eternal life. To every man, whether he lives his life in a reckless hunting for something to satisfy his soul in things of time or sense, forgetting all about the things of eternity, or whether he lives his life as a sane, well-balanced man, there will come a time when his soul will speak out with no un certain sound and ask each of these men this great ques tion: “ If a man die, shall he live again?” What book outside of the Bible can answer that quest of the soul? What book outside of the Bible can shed light on the pathway in which that soul must tread from time to eternity? It satisfies the longing, hungry, anxious soul. Again, that soul will speak out in no uncertain sound and ask this question: How can a man who is a sinner be Justified in the presence of a righteous God? What book outside of the Bible can answer that question? None! It tells of Him who is the light of the world, of Him who lighteth every man that cometh into the world; of Him whose blood atonement not only washes away our sins but justifies the sinner in the sight of God. Who Wrote the Bible? Another question that disturbs some minds is who wrote the Bible. God wrote the Bible. Still again one could truthfully say God never wrote a book. Jesus Christ never wrote a line so far as we know. Then how do we justify our claim that God wrote the Bodk? God used thirty-six hands to write this Book. It took a period of sixteen centuries. Let me illustrate by a homely illustration how God wrote the Bible. We have two stenographers in our office who write the correspondence. Suppose you receive a letter from me, you read it and say, "Mr. Boggs wrote me a letter; I have it in my hand.” The truth of the matter is Mr. Boggs didn’t write it. He signed his name to it and that made it his letter. He prepared that letter to you by call ing one of these ladies, who wrote down the thoughts ex pressed and transcribed them and I signed it. So God wrote the Bible. He called his faithful servants who wrote at His dictation, and then He signed His name and that made it His Book. It is His revelation to us through H1 b faithful servants. His name is on every page. Does it not read— “ Thus saith the Lord”— and— “ God said,” “ Verily, verily I say unto you"— and "the angel said •Write’ ” ? If God wrote the Book we ought to know it better than we do. Let us read it daily. If God wrote the Book we ought to obey it better than we do. In it are blessings of life, both natural and super natural. If God wrote the Book then we ought to know the dif ference between knowledge and obedience, how they are akin to each other. If God wrote the Book, then we should pass the word to others that they may know It too. The greatest blessing in life is to know Jesus Christ as your own personal Saviour— the greatest ministry in life
