Hart Angus Farms - 51st Annual Angus Bull & Female Sale [2/25/26]

Dear Cattlewomen and Cattlemen, On behalf of the entire team here at Hart Angus Farms, I would like to extend a sincere “Happy New Year” to all of you. Like every year prior, as I begin to brainstorm on how to make this same old letter sound different and interesting, I can’t help but be a little amazed that it is once again sale season. As usual, I am pushing right up against the deadline to have this thing turned in and I am sure that making it my new year’s resolution to write it a little sooner next year will probably not make a difference! “Old habits die hard” they say, and working best under pressure (albeit self-inflicted pressure) seems to run in the family, so it’s business as usual, I guess. That said, it has been another busy year here at Hart Angus and we are as excited as ever to present this year’s offering for your evaluation. As I write this letter, we are in the middle of intense sale preparation. The cattle are being clipped and pictured, ads are being assembled, and nerves are starting to build. Yes, even though I’ve been a part of more sales than I can remember, I still can’t help but feel a little anxious as I think about the culmination of a year’s work all coming to a head on that one big day. I rest easy, however, knowing that we have some of the best cattle folk in the business that support our program, and I also know that we here at Hart Angus have left no stone unturned while producing our best offering to date. As we are nearing the end of another trip around the sun since our last Production Sale, it brings a smile to my face to think back and reflect on the year that was. The commercial cattleman has seen all-time high cattle prices and the beef industry is in a place it has never been. I don’t believe anyone thought that we would see the cull cow price get to where it is today. It almost doesn’t matter what you have to sell, the market wants it! Do not be fooled though; quality still brings a premium. That is why it is crucial to understand that now is not the time to let off the gas. Procuring the right genetics to ensure the success of your herd moving forward is as important as ever. With low supplies and high demand, it is in your best interest to position yourself in a way so that you can capitalize on this favorable market, that I personally do not see changing for the next few years. I am confident that this offering will have those exact genetics I speak of that will keep you on the road to success for years to come. This year’s bull offering will see several sons of the A.I. sires BNWZ Bougie 1588, 44 Faithful 2764, Hart Network 2148, and DBA Authority 3122 to name a few. These bulls are bred for performance and carcass merit, and I am sure they will deliver on that promise. Also featured will be several sons out of our herd sire S/A Deliverance 0122, who was the top seller at the renowned Midland Bull Test Angus Bull Sale in 2024. These boys are thick and functional and should do great things in almost any commercial program that is looking to add pounds to their calf crop. We will also be selling several sons out of the great donor dams JCH J&K Polly 1600 and Hart Whitney 9518. These cow families have left their mark on our herd, and this is your opportunity to secure your piece of that genetic puzzle. Daughters out of these same donors will also be up for auction along with several other elite donor prospects. And don’t forget about the fancy heifer groups that will sell again this year for those looking to add to their cow herd. In closing, please allow this letter to act as my formal invitation to you to our 51st Annual Production Sale, which will be held at the farm near Frederick, SD on our new date, Wednesday, February 25th, 2026, at 1:00 pm. If it’s your first time here at Hart Angus, please take a minute to introduce yourself to either Brad or myself. We thoroughly enjoy meeting our fellow cattle producers and would appreciate your honest feedback on the cattle. If you are a returning customer, I look forward to catching up with you again on sale day here at the ranch or any time prior. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to Dad, myself, or any of the sale staff listed here in the catalog with any questions regarding the offering. And if you happen to be in the area, please remember that visitors are always welcome!

Sincerely, Alex Hart
