ELECTROLUX: PROYECTANDO UNA VIVIENDA COLECTIVA Electrolux: Designing collective housing
La cuarta versión del concurso de arquitectura Electrolux recibió 80 proyectos de arquitectos profesionales y de estudiantes de arquitectura.
The fourth edition of the Electrolux architectural competition received 80 projects submitted by professional architects and architecture students.
La nueva versión del certamen organizado por Electrolux y Tradeshows Chile, y patrocinado por la AOA, propuso explorar propuestas de nuevas formas y alternativas para una vivienda colectiva, incluyendo la generación de diseños de beneficio público y comunitario. En la selección de los ganadores se evaluó especialmente la factibilidad de implementación y construcción de las propuestas. El jurado fue presidido por los arquitectos Yves Besançon, en representación de la AOA, Bernd Haller, Jorge Figueroa, Gisella Wiesner, Felipe Assadi y Marianne Balze, junto a Ignacio Toro (gerente de Marketing Electrolux Fensa/Mademsa), Rafael Alonso (Electrolux) y Walter Junge (Tradeshows Chile). The new version of the competition organized by Electrolux and Tradeshows Chile, and sponsored by the AOA, set out to explore new ways and alternatives for collective housing, including the generation of designs for public and community benefit. In selecting the winners the implementation and construction feasibility of the proposals was particularly considered. The jury was chaired by architects Yves Besançon, representing the AOA, Bernd Haller, Jorge Figueroa, Gisella Wiesner, Felipe Assadi and Marianne Balze, with Ignacio Toro (Marketing Manager of Electrolux Fensa/Mademsa), Rafael Alonso (Electrolux) and Walter Junge (Tradeshows Chile).

La estratificación y la segregación espacial han provocado una desarticulación en nuestro hábitat. Lo interior y lo exterior, lo individual y lo colectivo, lo artificial y lo natural parecen estar radicalmente separados en nuestras actuales formas de vivir al interior de las ciudades. Frente a esto, ¿cómo sería un hábitat gradual? Un lugar que lograra hacer que ese aire fluyera entre las cosas. Un territorio intermedio, explorable, que estableciera relaciones difusas entre sus partes, donde las situaciones fueran una clara manifestación de la conquista de un espacio por descubrir. Stratification and spatial segregation have caused a disruption in our habitat. The indoors and outdoors, the individual and the collective, the artificial and the natural seem to be radically separated in our current ways of urban living. In this regard, what is gradual habitation? A place that could potentially make this concept flow between things: An intermediate territory to be explored, with undefined relations between its parts, where the situations were a clear manifestation of the conquest of space to be discovered.
