CONCURSO NACIONAL DE PROYECTOS DE TÍTULO ARQUITECTURA CALIENTE Arquitectura Caliente National Degree Project Competition
En línea con apoyar el trabajo de estudiantes y arquitectos jóvenes, objetivo fundacional del Grupo Arquitectura Caliente-GAC, el certamen escogió los 10 mejores proyectos de título presentados en las universidades chilenas.
In line with its continuing support for the work of students and young architects, a foundational goal of GAC-Grupo Arquitectura Caliente, the competition chose the 10 best degree projects presented in Chilean universities.
Más de 140 proyectos, desarrollados por egresados de Arquitectura de todo el país, participaron en el CNPT 2014. De los 10 trabajos ganadores, el Gran Premio lo obtuvo Domingo Arancibia, de la Universidad de Chile, con un proyecto diseñado para poner en valor la materialidad del mimbre y el trabajo de los artesanos de Chimbarongo. Como parte del premio, el joven integrará la próxima Misión Tecnológica organizada por la AOA. El jurado fue integrado por el Premio Nacional Enrique Browne y por Carlos Alberto Urzúa, director de Revista AOA; Paola Mora, editora de Plataforma Arquitectura; Rayna Razmilic, arquitecta representante del colectivo Arquitectura Caliente; Alexis Berczely, ganador de la versión anterior del certamen; Rodrigo Duque, ganador premio arquitecto joven 2007 y Fernando Portal, representante de arquitectos menores de 40 años. GAC es un colectivo independiente que busca difundir y apoyar el trabajo de estudiantes y arquitectos jóvenes, como también la discusión en torno a la arquitectura.
More than 140 projects developed by Architecture graduates from around the country participated in the 2014 National Degree Project Competition. Of the ten winning projects, Domingo Arancibia, from the University of Chile, won the Grand Prize with a project designed to highlight wicker as a material and the work of the artisans of Chimbarongo. As part of the award, the young man will join the next Technology Mission tour organized by the AOA. The jury was composed of National Award recipient Enrique Browne; Carlos Alberto Urzúa, director of AOA Magazine; Paola Mora, editor of Plataforma Arquitectura; Rayna Razmilic, architect representing the Arquitectura Caliente group; Alexis Berczely, winner of the previous version of the event; Rodrigo Duque, winner of the young architect award in 2007 and Fernando Portal, representing architects under 40. GAC is an independent group that seeks to spread and support the work of students and young architects, as well as architectural debate.

El proyecto se plantea como un mecanismo de difusión para alertar oportunamente sobre la paulatina desaparición del trabajo en mimbre, actividad y materia prima características de un lugar y propias de nuestra identidad. Se plantea un artefacto capaz de mostrar los atributos del material e integrar en un mismo espacio a los diversos actores relacionados a la actividad mimbrera. Desde su condición formal y funcional se propone un cuerpo capaz de otorgar los espacios necesarios para el correcto desarrollo productivo de la actividad, mostrando sus etapas y procesos. The project is intended as a promotional mechanism giving a timely alert on the gradual disappearance of wickerwork, an activity and a raw material representative of a place and part of our identity. The design proposes a device capable of displaying the properties of the material and integrating in one space the multiple actors involved in wickerwork. Its formal and functional condition proposes a volume capable of providing the necessary spaces for the proper productive development of the activity, showing the stages and processes involved.
