El edificio se ubica en un terreno dentro del plan de Valparaíso, ciudad Patrimonio de la Humanidad, frente a la Av. Brasil esquina con Rodríguez, área de antiguas bodegas, industrias y comercio, hoy constituida en el eje educacional de la ciudad. Se trata de una construcción que ocupa los bordes y recoge el volumen construido de la ciudad, con las alturas y disposición de las antiguas bodegas y fábricas, reconstituyendo la espacialidad de las calles y bordes de las avenidas, las volumetrías y grano de lo edificado en las laderas de los cerros y el juego de volúmenes y materialidades del acopio de containers en el puerto. La disposición de los volúmenes genera intersticios recorribles y ocupables que, como las calles y paseos de Valparaíso, abre perspectivas hacia las vistas, proponen espacios de integración que reconocen la ciudad, como la apropiación de la cubierta como terraza mirador (5ª fachada), similares a los existentes en los cerros de Valparaíso. The building is located on a site within the coastal plain of Valparaiso –a World Heritage Site city– facing Brazil Ave. at the corner of Rodríguez Street, an area of old warehouses, factories and commerce, which has now become the educational hub of the city. The building occupies the entire plot to the edges and therefore reflects the built volume of the city, its built height and the placement of the old warehouses and factories; rebuilding the spatial condition of the streets and edges of the avenues, the volume and density of construction on the hillsides and the play of volumes and material condition of the container storage at the port. The arrangement of the volumes generate passable and usable spatial gaps, which like the streets and promenades of Valparaiso, open up the views, propose spaces for integration that recognize the city, such as the appropriation of the roof deck as a lookout terrace (5 th façade) similar to those existing on the hills of Valparaiso.
