El curriculum de Mohsen Mostafavi (60) es extenso: titulado como arquitecto en Londres (1977), previo a Harvard enseñó en la Universidad de Pensilvania, en Cambridge y en la Städelschule (Academia de Bellas Artes de Frankfurt ), y también presidió la Architectural Association School of Architecture de Londres, además de ser jurado en importantes concursos internacionales de arquitectura y consultor de diversos proyectos arquitectónicos y urbanos. Sus proyectos de investigación y de diseño se han publicado en numerosas revistas, pero es conocido más que nada por libros tales como: La vida de los edificios en el tiempo (escrito con David Leatherbarrow, 1993), premiado por la AIA; Aproximaciones (2002); Urbanismo del Paisaje (2004); Estructura y Espacio (2006); Urbanismo Ecológico (el más reconocido, 2010), y Arquitectura es vida (2013), entre otros. Durante su apretada agenda en Chile, Mostafavi se dio tiempo para conversar con los integrantes del comité editorial de la Revista AOA Raimundo Lira e Yves Besançon, donde compartió su visión en torno la formación de arquitectos en Harvard y a las relaciones urbe-campo. He also chaired the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London, and has been a juror in major international architecture competitions as well as a consultant in numerous architectural and urban projects. His research and design projects have been published in numerous magazines, but he is mostly known for books such as: On Weathering, The Life of Buildings in Time (written with David Leatherbarrow, 1993), awarded by the AIA; Approximations: The Architecture of Peter Markli (2002); Landscape Urbanism (2004); Structure as Space (2006); Ecological Urbanism (the most widely known, 2010) and Architecture is Life (2013), among others. During his busy schedule in Chile, Mostafavi made time to talk to Raimundo Lira and Yves Besançon, members of the editorial board of AOA Magazine, where he shared his vision regarding architectural education at Harvard and the urban-rural relationship.
