How to Read the HD50K Percentile Ranks The bottom row of numbers on each bull's data represents HD50K genomic percentile ranks (1% to 99%) within the Angus breed. These ranks are derived from high-density DNA testing and indicate the bull's genetic position compared to other tested Angus cattle. • Lower percentages are better for nearly all traits — a 1% rank means the bull is in the top 1% of the breed (elite genetics), while 50% is breed average. • These ranks help quickly identify strengths: for example, low ranks in growth traits (WW, YW), marbling (MARB), or ribeye (RE) indicate superior potential; low ranks in birth weight (BW) or fat suggest lighter births or leaner carcasses. • Percentile ranks update annually and complement the weekly-updated Genomic-Enhanced EPDs above them.
