UKUPC PROCUREMENT AWARDS
NWUPC Member, Lancaster University won a deserved award at the recent UK Universities Purchasing Consortia (UKUPC) Conference for their ‘Outstanding Responsible Procurement Initiative’ work on their Procurement and Travel Carbon Dashboard. The Dashboard is an effective reporting tool that utilises the HESCET data along with expenditure information to provide staff with a view of their account code or department’s Scope 3 Emissions. This initiative provides staff with deeper insight into higher-emitting activities and empowers them to make more informed purchasing and business travel decisions. The Procurement and Travel Carbon Dashboard has been designed to influence behaviours in support of the University’s net zero targets and has been led by Larissa Morrish, Lancaster Universities Head of Procurement, with support from a range of colleagues at Lancaster. Larissa gave a presentation about Lancaster's initiative to the UKUPC Conference at Exeter University last month, and was then presented with the award during the conference.
