With several premier professional and community theaters, the Rochester region is sure to entertain. The longest run and award winning Rochester Civic Theatre offers events featuring local, national and international artists, as well as live music and dance productions. If you are looking for a quality community run production, Rochester Repertory Theatre has a talented team of 400 volunteers that is sure to delight audiences. And who doesn’t love spending a summer evening under the stars while listening to music? On Sunday nights during July and August in Mayo park, Rochester Civic Music offers a free summer concert series called “Down by the Riverside” for visitors to enjoy. In addition, Riverside Live! is an indoor, ticketed concert series that can be enjoyed from September through June. As part of the nightlife scene, Rochester’s local breweries are a “must visit,” as are the numerous rooftop patio bars, and comedy clubs. During the summer months visitors can enjoy the block-party-style “Thursdays Downtown,” a weekly gathering produced by the Rochester Downtown Alliance featuring arts, food, music and a vendor marketplace.
