EPR Spectroscopy Operation Training NUCLEAR MAGNETIC RESONANCE SPECTROSCOPY

NUCLEAR MAGNETIC RESONANCE SPECTROSCOPY

Fundamentals of NMR Lecture Training

This is an EPR training for beginner/intermediate users requiring hands-on man- ual operation of the EPR instrument. The training is conducted using the CW- EPR spectrometer using Xenon software. Participants will learn EPR instrument operation, sample preparation, and data processing.

PARTICIPANT PROFILE This course is intended for research professionals from KAUST requiring to use the EPR instruments in the NMR laboratory. PREREQUISITES • Active Badger account

• Laboratory Safety Training • Hazardous Waste Training • Emergency Incident Preparedness Training • NMR Lab Safety Orientation Training MAXIMUM PARTICIPANTS 20 DURATION 2 hours FREQUENCY Monthly

This course introduces the fundamental concepts of Nuclear Magnetic Res- onance (NMR) Spectroscopy through lecture training on its basic theory and applications. Participants will learn about basic and advanced NMR experiments and functions, and standard 2D NMR experiments. Concepts such as chemical shift, J-coupling, and relaxation will be discussed, and users will learn how to analyze their data.

PARTICIPANT PROFILE This course is intended for research professionals from KAUST who require use of the NMR laboratory. Participants from other Saudi universities and external

institutions are welcome. PREREQUISITES • Active Badger account
