Yb Fiber Laser Training MICROFLUIDICS

The Ytterbium fiber laser (40Watt) has a wavelength of 1060 nanometers and this wavelength is absorbed by materials such as copper, brass, bronze, metal, and silicon wafers. This laser is used for cutting and etching metals, ITO, FTO, and wafer dicing, with a focal spot size of approximately 50 micrometers. This course introduces the Ytterbium fiber laser and standard procedures to operate the laser system. Participants will learn the basic Ytterbium fiber laser wavelength and how to identify which materials can be cut. Basic training on Coral Draw and ULS print settings, priorities, and adjustments of parameters will also be offered. PARTICIPANT PROFILE This course is intended for students and research professionals from KAUST who would like to make shadow masks, wafer dice, and create patterns on ITO/ Glass.
