This basic course is designed for beginners who are interested in using the Sha- heen supercomputer for their research. The course will cover high level infor- mation about Shaheen architecture, policies and procedures, programming and runtime environment, and application examples. It is designed for users who are either interested in developing their code or merely running third-party software on Shaheen, with numerous hands-on examples. Since this course is offered biannually (i.e. at the beginning of each Fall and Spring semester), the trainers update their instruction materials to include the latest features. PARTICIPANT PROFILE This course is intended for new Shaheen users. However, it can also be of interest to those who are looking to learn about Shaheen’s capabilities before beginning to use it. Basic knowledge of Linux command line is required. PREREQUISITES
